The City of Jackson posts official and final results for recent municipal elections, including mayoral and City Council races. In the 2025 general municipal election held on June 3, 2025, longtime Mississippi State Senator John Horhn was elected Mayor of Jackson with more than 67 % of the vote in the general election. Horhn began his term on July 1, 2025.
City Council election results from June 3, 2025 showed incumbents and new representatives winning their respective ward seats. Incumbent Montyne “Tina” Clay (Ward 2), Kenneth Stokes (Ward 3), Vernon Hartley (Ward 5), and Kevin Parkinson (Ward 7) were among the candidates who prevailed. The Ward 1 race was extremely close, and official certification followed initial unofficial counts.
